Series comprises papers created and collected by Theodore R. Conant, dating from 1933 to 2010. The papers include correspondence, scenarios, notes, clippings, and other materials such as a Korean dollar bill, a map, a narrative, comic strip, and a phonograph record (move to box 30 LP).


Subseries I.1: Clippings, 1951-2010

Subseries comprises newspaper clippings collected by Ted Conant related to the film industry, documentaries, screenings, and introductions of films produced by him, as well as articles related to the Korean War, Korean domestic politics, foreign affairs, culture and society, dating from 1951 to 2010.

Subseries I.3: Correspondence, 1952-2009

Subseries comprise incoming and outgoing correspondence, dating from 1952 to 2009. The correspondence are related to the makings of Conant's films and radio broadcasting, including filming projects, film festivals, recommendations, lecture invitations, as well as Conant's work with the United Nations Korean Reconstruction Agency (UNKRA), mostly with General John B. Coulter. He also corresponded with other film producers on various filming projects, as well as correspondence related to Korean studies in the US, and his paper donation to the Center for Korean Studies in University of Hawaii.
