Box 4 Folder 25 Photo Album, "Residence of Samuel P. Rotan" (Wyndmoor, PA), ca. 1923-25

Small album of 30 original mounted silver prints showing the construction of a grand house designed by Wilson Eyre. The house was called "Lane's End." The photos show exterior and roof construction. Included is a newspaper clipping, dated 1946, with the title "Rotans' $1,500,000 'Treasure House' at Wyndmoor on sale for $285,000." The article explains that the house was made from old materials gathered by Mr. and Mrs. Rotan in England. Mr. Rotan, who had been a former Philadelphia District Attorney died om 1930, just five years after the house's completion.
