Biographical / Historical

Ruth Abrams was a painter of the New York School. From 1965 to 1966, Ruth Abrams was the art director at the Research Association of The New School, and also lectured at the Parsons The New School for Design.

Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1912, Abrams studied studied art at the Art Students' League, Columbia University, and the School of Social Research. She worked in the ateliers of sculptors William Zorach, Aleksandr Archipenko, and Jose de Creeft, and painters John Graham, Yasuo Kuniyoshi, and architect Wallace Harrison.
