DescriptionScope and ContentsThe collection consists of 20 years of audio recordings from the Taliesin Music and Dance Festival and other dance performances by the Taliesin Fellowship. The collection contains both the festival and rehearsal recordings dated from 1957 to 1977. The majority of the music was composed by Olgivanna Lloyd Wright, and performed as dances choregraphed by Iovanna Lloyd Wright.

History / Biographical NoteBiographical / HistoricalThe annual Taliesin Festivals of Music and Dance began in 1957 after the compeltion of the Pavilion at Taliesin West. Performances were choregraphed by Iovanna Lloyd Wright and were performed to music composed by Olgivanna Lloyd Wright. The cast was made up of members of the Taliesin Fellowship. Early performances were heavily inspired by Georges Gurdjieff's exercises and dances. |
