History / Biographical NoteBiographical / HistoricalCalvert Vaux (1824-1895) was a British-American architect and landscape designer. He is best remembered as the co-designer (with Frederick Law Olmsted), of New York's Central Park. William Alex served as president of the Frederick Law Olmsted Association for over 30 years and curated an exhibit on Calvert Vaux in 1989 for the Museum of the City of New York. |
