    <head>Biographical / Historical</head>
<p>Antoni Wojcicki (1886, Poland - October 26, 1970, USA), poet, journalist, activist of Polish diaspora in the United States. He was born in Poland near Ostrołęka, came to the United States when he was about 20 years old. Right after arriving in the United States, he joined the Sokolstwa Polskiego, remaining an outstanding activist in this organization until his death. He also joined the then-existing Komitet Obrony Narodowej (KON), established in 1912, where he distinguished himself as a member and political activist. When during World War II KON transformed into the Komitet Narodowy Amerykanow Polskiego Pochodzenia, he took an active part in establishing this organization and held leading positions in it until the end of his life. He was awarded the "Gold Cross of Merit" by the President of the Republic of Poland.</p>  </bioghist>

<p>Being self-taught, Antoni Wojcicki was a writer, poet, and expert in Polish literature and history.
For many years, Wojcicki worked as a journalist for the New York daily newspaper "Nowy Świat." His articles and works signed "Antoni Wojcicki - Chłop spod Ostrołęki" appeared quite often not only in "Nowy Świat," but also in Ameryka Eho, "Gwiazda Polarna" and other Polish publications.</p>  </bioghist>
