Margaret Chandler, professor of organizational behavior, was the first tenured female faculty member in the Columbia University Business School. Chandler specialized in conflict resolution and collective bargaining. According to her New York Times obituary, Chandler would also serve as a member of the labor panel of the American Arbitration Association from 1965 until her death in 1991. In 1976, she was appointed to the Governor of New York's panel for arbitration of educational disputes, and in 1977, Chandler was named to the special panel of interest arbitrators for police and fire negotiations in New Jersey.
