    <head>Biographical / Historical</head>
<p>Paul Edwin Spiecker was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1908. He graduated from the Pennington School in New Jersey in 1929 and Boston University in 1933 prior to attending the Union Theological Seminary. The Reverend Paul Edwin Spiecker attended UTS from 1933-1936, and went on to work as Pastor of Trinity Church in Stony Point, NY. Reverend Spiecker died in 2000.</p>  </bioghist>

<p>This collection is part of the Union Theological Seminary Archives, which comprises institutional and administrative records of the Seminary, combined with the papers of many organizations, scholars, pastors, laypersons, and others connected with the school. <p>Some material was cataloged by Lynn A. Grove on 1988-07-14. Materials were placed in new acid-free folders and boxes. Acidic items were separated from one another by interleaving with acid-free paper as needed. Any items in an advanced state of deterioration were placed in Mylar envelopes. The finding aid was created by Margaret Kaczorowski and Brigette C. Kamsler in 2015 with the support of the Henry Luce Foundation, and edited by Leah Edelman in 2022.</p>  </processinfo>

Bewer, the New Testament by Ernest F. Scott, systematic theology by John Baillie and Paul Tillich, philosophy of religion by Henry Pitney Van Dusen and Mary Ely Lyman, history of religions and church history by Cyril Richardson, practical theology by Henry Sloane Coffin, and religious education and psychology by Harrison S. Elliott. Also included in this collection are booklets from the NJ Temperance Society, The Scientific Temperance Federation Bulletin from 1938, and a booklet on "Alcohol Problems Visualized" published by the National Forum.</p>  </scopecontent>
