<p>Letters of Freeman, addressed to various personalities at Harper Brothers and the Century Magazine, relating chiefly to the publication in serial and book form of her various novels and short stories. Included are letters to Richard Watson Gilder, Robert Underwood Johnson, Colonel George B. Harvey, and Henry Mills Alden. Also, photocopies of the typescript of Brent L. Kendrick's Ph.D. thesis (University of South Carolina, 1981) THE INFANT SPHINX: COLLECTED LETTERS OF MARY E. WILKINS FREEMAN. 2 vols.
