Linda T. Lee organized and photographed a series of Asian Awareness events on Pratt Institute's campus, March 20 and 22, 1971. Speakers and political activists were invited to speak on the Vietnam War and Asian hate activities in the US. The program came together with a community of Asian artists producing banners and flyers while Lee volunteered as program emcee. During the events, Lee also took photographs of the speakers, as well as crowd shots of students, professors and local activists. This collection consists of those photos, including images of Yuri Kochiyama and her family, Joanne Nobuko Miyamoto, and Chris Iijima.
The collection consists of nine original photographs and two printed items.
Single photocopies may be made for research purposes. Permission to publish material from the collection must be requested from the Curator of Manuscripts/University Archivist, Rare Book and Manuscript Library (RBML). The RBML approves permission to publish that which it physically owns; the responsibility to secure copyright permission rests with the patron.

Chris Kwando Iijima (1948–2005) was an American folksinger, educator and legal scholar. Together with Nobuko JoAnne Miyamoto and Charlie Chin they constituted the group "Yellow Pearl". They recorded an album "A Grain of Sand: Music for the Struggle by Asians in America" in 1973.

Seated in the audience is speaker Han-Hua Cheng, representing Asian Political Alliance (at Columbia). Cheng became the highest ranked Asian American AFL-CIO unionist in the U.S.
Mixed in the audience are members of the Chinese Student Society, Students for a Democratic Society, Black Students Union, Ethiopian Students Union and local Balck Panther Party.
