<p>This addition to the New York Comics Community is by Carolita Johnson, a New Yorker cartoonist who has been creating illustrated essays for Longreads.com. This essay, "A woman's work," details her relationship with her late husband, also a New Yorker cartoonist, and examines the sacrifices women artists are forced to make for their partners. The work is ink on board with visible blue pencil, and includes process materials.</p>  </scopecontent>

He is the co-founder of <title render="italic">World War 3 Illustrated</title>, a political comix magazine, and has produced over two dozen books, including <title render="italic">Sticks and Stones</title>, <title render="italic">The System</title>, <title render="italic">Diario de Oaxaca</title>, <title render="italic">Ruins</title> (winner of the 2016 Eisner Award) and adaptations of many of Franz Kafka's works into comics, including <title render="italic">The Metamorphosis</title>.
