The letters were written while Mary Fitt was studying for her masters degree in economics from September 1941 to June 1942. These long newsy letters deal with her course work, her thesis research, an off-campus job, life in New York City, World War II and family and friends. Also included is the original corrected typescript of her 1942 masters essay, "Argentina's Trade with the Western Hemisphere".
