2.6 Linear FeetThis Japanese photograph and postcard collection is composed of five different groups: photographs and postcards collected by Samuel McCune Lindsay (Series 1); photographs and postcards collected by J. W. T. Mason (Series 2); photographs donated by Katharine Becke (Series 3); Japanese Subjugation of Rehe Sheng (China) "Public Relations Photographs" (Series 4); and other postcards and photographs (Series 5). The majority of items were created and/or collected during the 1930s in Japan; however, the collection includes items created throughout the twentieth century as well as originating in neighboring countries such as China and Korea.

11 boxesLetters, manuscripts, prints, portraits, memorabilia, clipping, pamphlets, and other printed materials relating to Abraham Lincoln and his contemporaries. Included are four autograph letters from Lincoln, two of which are photostatic copies; one letter each from Salmon P. Chase, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Horace Greeley, and Robert Lincoln; two manuscript passes (military); a bust of Lincoln; a cast of his hands and a reconstruction of Lincoln's library. Also, five letters from Hill to his grandson David Schrady Hill, and typescripts of his sermons and speeches.

1 boxThis group of thirteen letters, one document, one signed card, fourteen portraits, and one portrait medal relates to six distinguished Italian patriots who were prominent in the unification of Italy in the 19th century. The collection includes one letter and one portrait of Count Camillo Benso Cavour (1810-1861); three letters and three portraits of Domenico Cirillo (1739-1799); two letters and two portraits of Giuseppe Garibaldi (1807-1882); one letter and one portrait of Giuseppe Guisti (1809-1850); six letters, one signed card, and six portraits of Giuseppe Mazzini (1805-1872); and one document, one portrait, and one portrait medal of Victor Emmanuel II of Italy (1820-1878). The letters are in many cases accompanied by transcriptions and translations as they are chiefly in Italian. The portraits are engravings and photographs.
