The collection includes Pillionnel's routine correspondence, manuscripts in French and English of his poems, plays and prose works, many of which are unpublished, and his "Journal Intime" which covers the period 1932-1972. Included is an oil portrait of Pillionnel by his friend Peter Hayward. One document folder contains Pillionnel family records (birth certificates, baptismal records, passports) from the late eighteenth and nineteenth centuries

The collection includes one letter and one portrait of Count Camillo Benso Cavour (1810-1861); three letters and three portraits of Domenico Cirillo (1739-1799); two letters and two portraits of Giuseppe Garibaldi (1807-1882); one letter and one portrait of Giuseppe Guisti (1809-1850); six letters, one signed card, and six portraits of Giuseppe Mazzini (1805-1872); and one document, one portrait, and one portrait medal of Victor Emmanuel II of Italy (1820-1878). The letters are in many cases accompanied by transcriptions and translations as they are chiefly in Italian. The portraits are engravings and photographs.

There is cataloged correspondence from Arnold Genthe, S.I. Hayakawa, Karen Horney, Burges Johnson, Dwight Macdonald, and Alice B. Toklas, etc.

Correspondence, photographs, photographic plates, photostats, clippings, periodicals, and books relating to the history and literature of boxing and the prize ring from Homer to the 20th century. The correspondence, with related clippings, photographs, and photostats, is chiefly addressed to Magriel from outstanding figures in the sports world and from his publishers. It is arranged under general subject headings. Also, an unpublished typescript by Magriel on the history of pugilism.

Correspondence and inscribed photographs sent to Paul Palmer. Mr. Palmer has collected portraits of film and theater notables and other celebrities since the 1920s. Many of the photographs are inscribed to him and there is some correspondence as well as lobby display cards.
