There are files of correspondence and papers of other economists and of his students, his research papers and professional publications, a group of published and unpublished papers dealing with the "Graham Plan" (Benjamin Graham, a securities analyst) for basing a monetary standard on a "basket" of primary commodities, and also the research notes of his work for the U.N. on Central America and tax reform in Chile. The teaching materials are accompanied by notes by Hart that describe the papers and relate them to the events of his life and thinking. The section headings in these notes correspond to the major divisions of the teaching materials.Among the correspondents are: Milton Friedman, J.K. Galbraith, A.B. Hart, J.M. Keynes, David Rockefeller, and F.W. Taussig.

Correspondence, speeches, speech materials, news clippings, subject files, audio and videotapes relating to the professional activity of Arthur Levitt, Jr. The papers and audiovisual material deal primarily with his tenure as the Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission (1993-2001), but also contain earlier records, including some materials relating to Levitt's school years at the Polytechnic Preparatory Country Day School and at Williams College, and his work at Hayden Stone, the American Stock Exchange, and the New York Economic Development Corporation, and his advocacy of the National Endowment of the Arts during the 1991-1992 funding controversy. These papers also contain materials relating to his father, Arthur Levitt, Sr., who served for 24 years as New York State Comptroller.

There are notes from her lectures on Sociology at Adelphi College in 1911-1912; papers from 1912-1932, when Perkins served on the Commission for Safety and on the Industrial Commission of New York State; the main body of the material is from the period of her cabinet office, 1933-1945; and some items from her days on the Civil Service Commission, 1946-1953. The development of a military industry and federal policy in the U.S. is recorded in THE MILITARY ECONOMY (1981), a 2 volume, unpublished collection of New York Times articles that traces war economy from 1865 to 1981. THE PEACE RACE (1962) research papers record the national debate on military policy under President Kennedy. The research papers for IN THE NAME OF AMERICA (1968) report violations of the laws of war by the U.S. in Vietnam. There are also conference papers and related materials documenting efforts to implement demilitarization and economic conversion

The collection contains correspondence, manuscripts by Marchenko and others, documents, photographs, printed materials, notebooks, notes, and subject files. Correspondence consists of Marchenko's personal correspondence and the correspondence of the Kronstadt Group, an anti-communist emigre organization. Manuscripts consist mostly of articles by Marchenko on the economy of the Soviet Union, many of them published. Printed materials include mimeographed materials, pamphlets, clippings, maps, and copies of several anti-Communist periodicals. Marchenko's notes and notebooks cover topics on economics, the Soviet Union and the Russian language. Subject files include information on the Institute for the Study of the U.S.S.R. (Munich) and the Kronstadt Group.
