A collection of letters, manuscripts, and documents relating to the history of printing and the graphic arts. The collection is in six parts. Cataloged Correspondence and manuscripts, including cataloged letters to and from Henry Lewis Bullen, the librarian of American Typefounders Company Library. Uncataloged letters of the Typographic Library, including routine correspondence, letters of inquiry to Bullen, the Library's order file, and library correspondence of Columbia University, 1941-1946, pertaining to the collection. Correspondence, manuscripts, documents and printed material by and relating to Henry L. Bullen. Letter books, ledgers, daybooks, and journals of the early American typefounders, Binney and Ronaldson. A collection of over 200 typographical patents for the design of printing types (19th and 20th centuries). Archives of the Companía Real de Impresores, Madrid, relating to its operations and business.

The collection consists of the editorial and production archives of Vanguard Press: correspondence, manuscripts, contracts, memoranda, galley proofs, photographs, clippings, and printed materials. The correspondence and editorial files contain a wealth of detailed information about individual authors and the growth and development of the Press. Correspondence, manuscripts, documents, photographs and printed materials of Unkovskiĭ. The correspondence includes letters from such individuals as Emile Baës, Vladimir Burt︠s︡ev, Nikolaĭ Evreĭnov, Galina Kuznet︠s︡ova, Boris Lazarevskiĭ, Alekseĭ Remizov, Ivan Shmelov, Boris Zaĭt︠s︡ev, and Leonid Zurov. Nearly all the manuscripts are by Unkovskiĭ, and include essays, stories, and excerpts from his memoirs, many of which were published in emigre journals. There are a number of scrapbooks containing clippings of his articles. In addition, the collection contains galleys of books by Unkovskiĭ, and copies of some of his full-length works, including "Ikary" (1942) and "Andreĭ Klinskiĭ" (1940).

Correspondence, writings, reports, memoranda, case files, and related printed materials. The papers cover the entire field of law with particular emphasis on civil rights, labor law, and family law. They include several series of office files dealing with Columbia University Law faculty, students, his course materials, and the administration of the Law School. In addition, there are numerous files for Amherst College (from which Gellhorn received his A.B. degree), arbitration cases, federal administrative procedure, legislation, the American Civil Liberties Union, the Association of American Law Schools, and Fordham University (for which he prepared a study). There are manuscripts, drafts, proofs, correspondence, and other related materials for some of his books: Administrative Law Cases and Comments (1940); Security, Loyalty and Science (1950); The States and Subversion (1952); Individual Freedom and Government Restraint (1956); When Americans Complain (1966); and Ombudsmen and others (1966).

Correspondence, manuscripts, notes, memoranda, notebooks, notecards, proofs, photographs, microfilms, and printed materials. The Papers include the manuscript research materials and correspondence for each of his books except his biography of Theodore Dreiser. Among the correspondents are William Benton, Bruce Catton, Carey McWilliams, Mrs. Fremont Older (Cora Miranda Baggerly Older), and Thornton Wilder.

Correspondence, manuscripts, and proofs of writings by and about John Berryman collected by his friend and critic, William Meredith. The collection also contains 28 volumes from Berryman's library containing his notes, inscriptions, etc. (loose notes are filed with the manuscripts) and 43 books, mostly inscribed to Berryman's mother. Correspondence of the following people are cataloged: Van Meter Ames, Saul Bellow, John Berryman, Robert Giroux, William Meredith, and William Phillips.
