Typescript memoirs of Totomi︠a︡nt︠s︡. The longest piece "Iz moikh vospominaniĭ" (156 p.), is a copy of Totomi︠a︡nt︠s︡'s memoirs under the same title (Sofia, Bulgaria, 1943). It discusses his studies in Western Europe; his years as a journalist in Russia around the turn of the century; his work with the cooperative movement in Russia and Europe; and his years in emigration after the 1917 revolution. Also included is a short essay entitled "Kooperativnaia poezdka v Rumynii︠u︡" and four other brief pieces on major economists and scholars whom he knew: Werner Sombart, Luigi Luzzatt, Charles Gide, and Aleksandr A. Chuprov. There is a clipping of an article from a French periodical about Totomi︠a︡nt︠s︡.

The collection consists of correspondence, manuscripts, subject files, photographs and printed materials, primarily booklets and clippings. The correspondents include Ivan and Vera Bunin, Mark Slonim and Petr Struve. Also included are photocopies of letters by Ivan A. Goncharov. By far the largest part of the collection is in the form of memoirs written by Valeriĭ P. Semenov-Ti︠a︡nʹ-Shanskiĭ, in which he dwells in detail on his ancestors, on the social and political life in Russian during the second half of the 19th century and on his public life in the emigration. The subject files deal primarily with Russian emigre organizations in Finland.

The collection contains correspondence, manuscripts by Marchenko and others, documents, photographs, printed materials, notebooks, notes, and subject files. Correspondence consists of Marchenko's personal correspondence and the correspondence of the Kronstadt Group, an anti-communist emigre organization. Manuscripts consist mostly of articles by Marchenko on the economy of the Soviet Union, many of them published. Printed materials include mimeographed materials, pamphlets, clippings, maps, and copies of several anti-Communist periodicals. Marchenko's notes and notebooks cover topics on economics, the Soviet Union and the Russian language. Subject files include information on the Institute for the Study of the U.S.S.R. (Munich) and the Kronstadt Group.

The collection -- composed of correspondence, manuscripts, documents, photographs and printed materials -- sheds light on the anti-Bolshevik campaign in the Kuban ́region, Siberia and the Far East. The correspondence is chiefly from the early 1920s and includes letters from Viktor Pokrovskiĭ to his brother Boris. Among the manuscripts are biographical sketches of Viktor Pokrovskiĭ, especially accounts of his assassination in Bulgaria in 1922; information circulars sent out by Ataman Grigoriĭ Semenov, "Commander in Chief of the Far Eastern Armies;" and reports written by Boris Pokrovskiĭ on events in Europe, particularly Eastern Europe, and the Far East. The documents are comprised primarily of decrees (prigovory) from local Kuban ́Cossack groups and the photographs are chiefly portraits of Viktor Pokrovskiĭ. Included among the printed materials are clippings from the Russian and emigre press, a large number of Civil War broadsides and political pamphlets published in Siberia in 1919. Several of the latter are by and about Ataman Semenov.

The manuscripts include an album of drawings by Mushketov entitled "Istorii︠a︡ drevnego Smolenska" with an accompanying explanatory text, and a biography of Mushketov by N. Mushketova. There is an icon of St. Paul, a copy of a 15th century work from Novgorod apparently by M.A. Korsunskorpis.́ Printed materials consist mostly of clippings about Mushketov and his work.

The V. K. Wellington Koo papers document the diplomatic legacy of Wellington Koo as a Chinese statesman and diplomat of the 20th Century. The papers primarily consist of materials collected during Koo's diplomatic career, relating to the Lytton Commission, 1932-1933; the League of Nations, 1931-1940; the United Nations, 1944-1946; his ambassadorships to France, 1932-1941; to Britain, 1941-1946; to the United States, 1946-1956; as the Senior Advisor to the Republic of China from 1956; and as the Judge on the International Court of Justice, 1957-1966. The materials include correspondence, diaries, memoranda, manuscripts, documents, notes, speeches, maps, photographs, printed material, and audio visual material. The bulk of the materials emphasizes China's domestic and foreign affairs, such as the Sino-Japanese conflict, World War II and the Cold War in the Far East region, as well as the League of Nations and the United Nations.
