A collection of letters, manuscripts, and documents of prominent actors, actresses, and theatrical managers. Many of these are single, unrelated items. The largest body of correspondence is from the American actress, Charlotte Cushman (14 letters). Another figure of major interest is William Charles Macready, partly because of Miss Cushman's relationship to him (she toured with him for several years) and also as there are several of his letters. Sir Henry Irving, Edwin Forrest and James Mowatt are each represented by a few letters. A group of 8 unsigned letters may have been written by the famous singer, actress, and manager, Eliza Vestris. One box contains manuscripts of Samuel Coit, Charlotte Cushman, Clyde Fitch, Wallace Gould, Henry von Heiseler, E.H. Sothern, and Lester Wallack. Six boxes contain Augustin Daly's check stubs and bank books for Daly's Theatre, New York, for 1872-1899. The papers relate chiefly to the business, financial, real estate, military, civic and personal activities of Nicholas Fish. There are letters from various military figures concerning army provisions during the Revolution, letters relating to lands given to Fish for his services during the war, twenty letters from various individuals to George Clinton (1739-1812), and ten letters to DeWitt Clinton. The Hamilton Fish letters deal with business matters of his father, Nicholas, after his death. There are a few personal letters from several family members and a diary of Nicholas Fish from 1784. The documents consist of real estate and financial matters of the family as well as various petitions on matters of a civic nature

The collection consists of manuscripts, documents, printed materials, and a photograph of Sadovskiĭ with his son and grandson. The manuscripts are memoiristic in nature and concern such topics as Sadovskiĭ's work in and near Vitebsk as part of Stolypin's land reform commission, the creation of a botanical garden in Vitebsk, Sadovskiĭ's imprisonment by the Cheka in 1919-1920, his emigration to Brazil and various antisemitic topics. The documents include Cheka affidavits regarding Sadovskiĭ's arrest, photostats of diplomas and emigration forms. There are two copies of a brochure Sadovskiĭ wrote about the Vitebsk Botanical Garden.

These are manuscripts and typescript documents of 34 different princely states that existed as distinct political entities in pre-independence India. Although the majority of these states were tiny principalities in western India (primarily in what is now Rajasthan), some (e.g., Hyderabad) were located in other regions of India and represented major powers in the region at that time.

Autograph and typed letters from James Thomas Farrell to Schapiro, concerning Farrell's personal life, his writings, and current social and political affairs. There are also eight of Farrell's manuscripts from the 1960s. The long friendship of neighbors is seen in Farrell's personal letters about his private life and his family and in the discussions of whichever novel he was working on at the time. The main body of the correspondence is from the World War II period and shows much concern for current events in the Soviet Union as well as in the U.S. and Europe. The author also made a few forays into Irish humor, as in the use of his pseudonym, Jonathan Titelescu Fogarty. There are autograph drafts of Prof. Schapiro's replies to and notes about Farrell, and letters and post cards from Farrell's actress wife, Hortense Adler. Also, a letter from Frances Mitchell on her book, THE AWAKENING - LE REVEIL, 1950.

Papers concern the fate of Admiral Horthy after the Second World War. Included are applications for assistance to the International Refugee Organization from Horthy and his wife; copies of the affidavits by Leon Blum and two others about Horthy's internment in German concentration camps in 1945; and related correspondence, memoranda, and others.

The collection consists of correspondence, a manuscript of the P.O.W. journal "Alibudér" in France, a subject file on the Turgenev Library, documents, picture postcards, and printed materials. Correspondence consists of letters and postcards to and from Palćhevskiĭ. There is one letter from Vladimir Burt︠s︡ev. Documents are Palćhevskiĭ's and include passports and affidavits, mostly from France. Picture postcards are primarily on historical topics. Printed materials include mainly clippings and programs. Cataloged letters are from Vladimir Burt︠s︡ev and Sergeĭ Svatikov.

The papers consist of correspondence, documents, a photograph, and printed materials. The correspondence is to Vera Vasilʹevna Onoprienko, Pavel's wife, and to Sofiia Pavlovna Onoprienko. Documents primarily deal with Pavel Vasil'evich Onoprienko and his tenure as aide to the Russian military agent in Paris. Among the documents there is an affidavit dated 1906 dealing with privy councillor Vasilii Semenovich Adikaevskii of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. There is a group photograph with Vladimir Onoprienko from the Russo-Turkish War.
