Angus MacLise was a musician, poet, artist, and countercultural figure who was a mainstay of the downtown New York arts scene in the 1960s, which included Fluxus alongside other avant-garde communities and scenes. Hetty MacLise was an English-born artist, poet, and multi-instrumentalist likewise associated with various overlapping movements and milieus within the 1960s and 70s avant-garde. This collection contains papers, documents, publications, ephemera, sound and video recordings, photographs, and artwork primarily created by, given to, or related to Angus MacLise and Hetty MacLise.

There is a manuscript of General Denikin's entitled, "Ocherki russkoĭ smuty," and of some of his other writings. Subject files deal with the Civil War and the emigration. Extensive printed materials include General Denikin's library and a collection of chiefly Russian emigre periodicals. Boxes 51, 52, 56, 61 have been integrated in the SEEC periodical collection.

Papers, letters, memoranda, memorabilia, and manuscript music scores assembled by and related to the life and musical activities of Anton Seidl. The collection includes many letters from Cosima Wagner and her children addressed to Anton Seidl and his wife, the opera singer Auguste Kraus Seidl. There are also letters from Lilli Lehman, Edvard Grieg, Antonin Dvorak, Bronislaw Hubermann, Carl Goldmark, Maud Powell, Marianne Brandt, Felix Weingartner, Lyman Abbott, and many others. The letters are chiefly concerned with musical performances, composition, and related affairs. There are journals, diaries, and memoranda in Seidl's hand, as well as photographs and clippings relating to his conducting career. Also, twenty-seven manuscript scores of Seidl's orchestrations of various works.

It consists of church related materials which reflect Archbishop Jankin long service as a priest and also several small collections of secular nature. Among those materials are papers of Alexander Knorre who was a chief of security of Prince Rainier Ill of Monaco, Vladimir Subbotin who was a film director in Paris. In addition, Georgii Laskin-Rostovskii - an audio cassette about Russian emigre life in Nice after WWII.

The papers consist of correspondence and notes. The correspondence is made up of letters to I︠A︡khontov concerning his memoirs about the Council of Ministers from pre-revolutionary officials, including Vladimir Kokovt︠s︡ev, Pavel Ignatév, and Vsevolod Shakhovskoĭ. The notes are minutes taken at the meetings of the Council of Ministers; these exist as both the original handwritten notes and as typed copies. Finally, there is a brief memoir by I︠A︡khontov concerning World War I, and a printed copy of the announcement by Nicholas II that World War I had been declared.

Papers of Lobeck while he was in Paris as Assistant to the Chief Cartographer of the American Commission to Negotiate Peace. Included are memorabilia, some correspondence, several docuements, and some photographs. The correspondence consists of his letters of appointment from Robert Lansing, Secretary of State, and his postcards to his wife, Bertha Merrill Lobeck, who later joined him in Paris. There are official documents such as passports, Commission memoranda, identification cards, and passes. Of particular interest are sixteen photographs of persons and places in France, and one drawing and one caricature of Lobeck that he sketched. The collection, however, is chiefly memorabilia of Lobeck's crossing the Atlantic on the U.S.S. George Washington with the members of the Commission; over 700 picture postcards, with no messages, of the Lobeck's travels in France, Spain, Great Britain, and other European countries; railway, subway, and bus maps, schedules, and tickets; tourist maps; hotel and restaurant receipts and menus; money; ration coupons; and theater programs.
