Manuscripts of Maltz, including the notes, drafts, and typescripts for numerous short stories and for the novels, THE CROSS AND THE ARROW, THE UNDERGROUND STREAM, THE JOURNEY OF SIMON MCKEEVER, A LONG DAY IN A SHORT LIFE, and A TALE OF ONE JANUARY. Also, THE CITIZEN WRITER IN RETROSPECT, a two-volume oral history of Maltz done by the University of California, Los Angeles.

This collection contains about seventy broadsides regarding communal and governmental regulations imposed in various Jewish communities throughout Italy from the 17th through the 19th centuries. Cities mentioned include Florence, Venice, Ferrara, Padua, Ancona, and others. Topics addressed are synagogue behavior, market regulations, municipal workers such as firefighters, and more. Among the publishers are the Stamperia camerale, Ferrara; Francesco Suzzi, Ferrara; Lodovico, and Frencesco Nobili, Ferrara; Sebastiano Nistri, Pisa and Typis Mainardi, Ancona.

Alan Brinkley (1949-2019) was the Allan Nevins Professor of History at Columbia University. He specialized in the political history of the twentieth-century United States.

Arthur B. Krim (1910–1994) was an entertainment lawyer and the former chairman of Orion Pictures and the United Artists Corporation. The correspondence, papers, photographs, and A/V content document the professional and personal life of Arthur Krim and his involvement with Columbia University and the Democratic National Committee, especially his relationship with President Lyndon B. Johnson (1908-1973) and First Lady Claudia Alta "Lady Bird" Johnson (1912-2007).

Paul Harvey Aron (1921-1991) was an expert on Japanese investments and a historian of the Soviet Union. Researchers interested in the Japanese stock market, Japanese industry, American investment in Japan, and Japanese investment in the United States in the 1970s and 1980s will be particularly interested in Series I. But the bulk of these files pertain to Aron's academic career, and will be of greatest interest for researchers studying Russian and Soviet history—in particular, Soviet historians and historiography in the 1930s (the subject of Aron's unpublished dissertation, much of which is included in Subseries II.3).

Todd Gitlin (1943-2022) was an activist, author, poet, and scholar of mass media at Columbia University. A leader of the anti-war group Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) in the 1960s and a self-identified progressive for his whole life, he became a noted critic of the American left from the 1990s on for a perceived overemphasis on identity and cultural issues.

The collection comprises Globachev's correspondence, K. I. Globachev's and S. N. Globacheva's typescript memoirs, personal documents, copies of photographs and biographical materials. Globachev's memoirs give a detailed account of events in Petrograd in the period 1914-1920, and memoirs of Sofiia Nikolaevna Globacheva focused on her personal experience as wife of a goverment official. There is also V. Marinich's correspondence including with A. F. Kerenskii and A. A. von Lampe.

Documents, letters, and papers relating to the ecclesiastical, political, and social history of Mexico. A large group of ecclesiastical material is dated 1772 while most of the secular papers fall in the early part of the 19th century. Of these documents 144 originated from archepiscopal authority and bear the signatures or seals of Manuel Barrientos (Vicar General and acting Archbishop), Andres Martinez Campillo (Canon of the Metropolitan Parish Church), Francesco Antonio Lorenzana (24th archbishop of Mexico), and others. These include about 67 dispensations in cases of marriage to avoid publishing the banns and to set aside degrees of consanguinity and affinity; a chronological list of the 31 archbishops of Mexico from 1527 to 1821; and wills and settlement of estates. Also, papers of Clemente de Jesús Munguía (1810-1868), Bishop of Michoacan. Among the material of less ecclesiastical nature there are letters and official communications relating to revolutionary leaders, 1811-1886, reports from viceregal archives, and tax assessments.
