The collection consists of three manuscripts by Bela Bartok, 1940-1943. These manuscripts totalling approximately 2,170 pages are as follows: 1) Romanian Folk Music - Vol. 1 Instrumental Melodies, Vol. 2 Vocal Melodies, Vol. 3 Texts; 2) Turkish Folk Music; and 3) Serbo-Croatian Table of Materials. Also, a small group of letters by Bartók and other concerning his association with Columbia University.

Collection of popular sheet music, arranged by date of publication, from ca. 1900-1950.

Boxes 6 and 7 are oversized boxes. 1-4 contain unpublished scores, 5 contain misc. paper and copies of unidentified music. 6 and 7 contain published scores with Miller's own markings. 5 rsc and 2 flat boxes.

Included are Sanger's personal diaries (1936-1967) relating to WQXR. Also included is a complete bound file of the WQXR PROGRAM GUIDE (June 1936-December 1963) containing a record of the broadcasting of classical music in New York City, the daily schedule, and essays on composers, music festivals, individual compositions and music in general by such writers as Irwin Edman, Will Durant, M. Lincoln Schuster, Edward Johnson, John Barbirolli, as well as by Sanger and his co-founder, John V. L. Hogan. The collection includes business letters, congratulatory and testimonial letters from listeners and advertisers, reports on the station's history, samples of newspaper clippings containing WQXR advertisements and program listings, market surveys of listeners, and promotional brochures prepared for prospective advertisers. There is a corrected typescript and galley proofs for Sanger's book Rebel In Radio (New York, Hasting House, 1972) and 6 volumes of documents in support of the station's application for "clear channel" status filed with the FCC. Also included are 49 photographs of the station's staff and musical personalities, 4 audiotapes of 1973 interviews with Sanger, and 4 audio cassettes celebrating WQXR's 50th Anniversary.

The archive, totaling approximately 4 linear feet, comprises material ranging from scrapbooks, photographs, and correspondence, to books, theatrical scripts, and sheet music, all reflecting Emily Gresser's life in music both in the United States and abroad from the late 1890s to the 1960s, with the majority centered on her professional performing career of 1910-1919.

Printed books and music manuscripts of the Ephrata Cloister. Manuscripts 1-6 are printed books by Johan Conrad Beissel (1690-1768) some with manuscript musical notation. Manuscripts 7-12 are volumes of manuscript musical notation of melodies for hymn texts in various printed books. Most of this collection relates to Beissel's DAS GESÄNG DER..TURTEL-TAUBE, 1747.

Miscellaneous photographs, clippings, and other materials relating to O'Hara, collected by his boyhood friend Burton A. Robie. The collection includes one letter from O'Hara, one music score in his hand, and Handel music from his library.

Manuscripts and lectures notes. The lecture notes are filed in 127 volumes arranged by subject. Professor Barry's interest in music is represented by the holograph manuscript of a voluminous musical composition"The Alcayde" composed in the late 1890s.
