Correspondence, notes, and printed material of Swihart, relating to research for his book, SINCE MRS. EDDY. Most of the material relates to Augusta Stetson and Annie C. Bill and the churches they founded as off-shoots of Christian Science. In addition to the box of manuscript material there is one box of printed religious tracts and publications relating to the Christian Science and related religions.

Papers of Reverend Stelzle, containing correspondence, manuscripts of his books and articles, photographs, pamphlets, and clippings relating to various sociological and religious subjects. Included among the manuscripts is a typescript copy of his AUTOBIOGRAPHY and approximately thirty-five surveys of religious and social agencies and institutions.

Photostatic copies of letters from Thirlwall to Richard Monckton Milnes, first Lord Houghton, 1833-1872; letters to Thirlwall from Lord Houghton, Thomas Carlyle, T.B. Macauley, George Grote, and others, and from Elizabeth Johnes, 1867-1872, a friend.

The material is in a small but clear 18th-century hand.

The diary is a detailed account of Abbott's trip from Sydney, Australia to the Philippines, Hong Kong, Macao, China and Japan. There are numerous pen-and-ink sketches of landscape, architecture, historical sites, and inhabitants, and maps, some in water color. Pasted in the volume are memorabilia such as menus, hotel brochures, postcards, photographs, clippings, calling cards, etc. Of special interest are his accounts of the various native Christian communities he visited. Following the text there is a name index. In addition to the volume there are some related letters, documents, memorabilia and published maps.

Papers of Howe, including family, personal, and professional correspondence; bills and receipts; photographs, itineraries, and brochures of his numerous American and European trips; four diaries for the years 1901, 1905, 1909, 1910; sermons, scripture readings, and other materials related to his ministry; addresses and writings; Howe-Barber genealogical materials, including galley proofs for his biography JEDIAH BARBER.
