The correspondence includes letters to Prince Gagarin, Russian Ambassador in Rome in the 1820s and 1830s; letters to Prince Aleksandr A. Gagarin; and one letter each from R.W. Gilder and Fedor Shali︠a︡pin to Princess (Marii︠a︡?) Gagarina. The documents chiefly concern Prince Aleksandr A. Gagarin. There are photographs of the Emir of Bokhara and his son from about 1900.
