The collection consists of some papermaking equipment (a small Hollander beater and a papermaking vat) which Elliott used for hand papermaking demonstrations, and some related stuff, mostly different raw materials. Though it is a "small" beater, it is extremely heavy, and takes up a good bit of floor space. This material was given to Special Collections in the 1950s as part of the effort to create a Graphic Arts Center at Columbia .

Collection consists of of H.S. Elliott's papers from his brief career as a missionary, as well as an extensive collection of photographs from the same, papers and publications from his lifelong engagement with the YMCA, and his academic and professional papers, including course notes, publication drafts and reviews, and student papers.
