Correspondence files and financial papers. The files include correspondence, contracts, clippings and programs, ledgers and financial accounts, submission books, and calendars and memorandum books. Correspondence, manuscripts, memorabilia, photographs, phonograph and tape recordings, and printed files. Included are Cerf's personal correspondence files, 1929-1945, and the diaries and scrapbooks which he maintained from his school days throughout his active career. The diaries, in date-book format, contain terse notes on Cerf's meetings with authors and friends, on his travels and publishing activities; the scrapbooks contain correspondence and photographs, as well as memorabilia and printed items, and were annotated by Cerf and his wife, Phyllis Fraser Cerf Wagner. Also in the collection are manuscripts and proofs for Cerf's books including "The Laugh's on Me""Treasury of Atrocious Puns""The Sound of Laughter""Stories to Make You Feel Better", and "At Random: the Reminiscences of Bennett Cerf", which was edited by Phyllis Cerf Wagner and Albert Erskine, 1977. The papers also include condolence letters written at the time of Cerf's death, photographs and photo albums,certificates and awards, and miscellaneous printed material, including Random House and Modern Library catalogues. The collection is primarily correspondence files, both personal and professional, along with book reviews, awards and diplomas, letters of condolence on his death, clippings, and correspondence, manuscripts and printed materials relating to THE STREAM OF HISTORY. The correspondence relates specifically to the third edition. The manuscripts are typed and holograph inserts for the third edition and possibly for the second edition as well. Among the manuscripts are twenty-two notebooks containing holograph notes and drafts of chapters. The printed material consists of one copy of THE STREAM OF HISTORY, 1934 edition.

James Yen and the IIRR concerned with the development, sharing, and financing innovative methods of teaching, improving agriculture, health and family planning, and education in impoverished villages. Among the cataloged correspondents are: Pearl Buck, William O. Douglas, Nelson Rockefeller, and DeWitt Clinton.

Family and personal correspondence; materials related to his secondary, college, and university education; materials related to his tenure at the National Council of the Protestant Church; business correspondence of St. Philip's Episcopal Church and the St. Philip's Community Service Council; bulletins of church services; drafts of sermons and speeches, as well as numerous audio-tapes; manuscripts and publications; correspondence related to the construction and on-going maintenance of several senior-citizen and other community housing; correspondence related to various community redevelopment initives and campaigns for affordable housing; materials related to college courses including oral histories for his Black Family Research project; photographs of St. Philip's Church and of activities of the St. Philip's Community Service Council.

ROVS North America (ROVS-N.A.) Records consist of correspondence, manuscripts, documents, photographs, organizational records, subject files, and printed materials. There are also papers of the Paris-based Sovet Rossiiskogo Zarubezhnogo Voinstva (Council of the Russian Military Abroad) and other emigre military and political organizations active in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and South America. The cataloged correspondence includes letters by Evgenii Miller, Nikolai Tsurikov, Aleksandr Kutepov and other emigre figures and by Richard Nixon, Lyndon Johnson, Barry Goldwater and other prominent American politicians. Arranged correspondence series consist of general office files, Paris-New York files, correspondence of Aleksei von Lampe and Vladimir Vitkovskii and topical correspondence files. Among the manuscripts are short articles and reminiscences by various people. There are photographs of Evgenii Miller, Nicholas II and of emigre organizational gatherings during the 1950s and 1960s. The organizational records include circulars, bulletins, orders, memoranda, reports, publications and financial records for ROVS and the Sovet Rossiiskogo Zarubezhnogo Voinstva. Subject files concern such topics as the Elisavetgrad Military Academy, the Union of the First Kuban Campaign, the Gallipoli societies, the Ingermanlandskii Regiment and the Russian Anti-Communist Center in New York. The printed materials include a book by Boris Kuznetsov and publications and circulars from other emigre organizations.

Correspondence is both professional and personal, relating primarily to Fuld's duties in the New York District Attorney's Office, as a judge in the state and federal courts, and to his civic work for the Jewish Theological Seminary, the City College of New York, New York University, and the Columbia University Law School. Major correspondents include: Thomas E. Dewey, Louis Finkelstein, Herbert Lehman, and Nelson A. Rockefeller. The rest of the collection consists of Fuld's briefs, opinions, memoranda, forms of indictments, appeals cases, reports for the New York State Court of Appeals from his appointment in 1946 through 1973, and manuscripts of his speeches and lectures. The memoranda series deals chiefly with investigations into organized crime. In addition there are biographical materials, memorabilia, and photographs.
