This collection contains the papers of J. Max Bond, Sr. (1902-1991), educator, State Department and United States Agency for International Development (USAID) official and president of the University of Liberia, and Ruth Clement Bond (1904-2005), chair of the English Department at Kentucky State College and at the University of Liberia, and president of the African-American Women's Association. The collection includes extensive family and professional correspondence, writings, and documents relating to educational, political, community and civil rights organizations in which the Bonds participated. The collection also contains photographs and ephemera.

This collection documents the work of the Non-Sectarian Anti-Nazi League to Champion Human Rights, a group originally founded in 1933 to coordinate boycotts against Nazi Germany. It later investigated and reported on extremist and hate groups of many kinds, primarily within the United States.

The Grove Press Collection consists of production, publication, and marketing materials from the Grove Press Records at Syracuse University, which document the history of the Grove Press in Greenwich Village.

This collection contains professional and personal materials of Reverend Doctor James Hal Cone, a pioneering voice in American religious history and founder of Black Liberation Theology. Materials include writings, notes, teaching materials such as syllabi and student work, lectures and documentation of speaking engagements, supporting research for and manuscripts of publications, photographs, personal and professional correspondence, documentation of committee and other work at UTS, AV materials used for research and documenting speaking engagements, books, and awards and memorabilia.

The collection documents the career and personal life of Trinidadian-born Black British activist and journalist Darcus Howe (1943-2017). Howe was best known as a defendant in the 1971 Mangrove Nine trial, a founding member of the Race Today Collective and editor of its journal, Race Today, and a producer of television series and documentary films for the British television station Channel 4. There is also material from the later life of Howe's cousin, the prominent intellectual, postcolonial writer, and activist C. L. R. James (1901-1989).
