This subseries contains scrapbooks of newspaper clippings about cinema reviews and film advertisements from 1960s newspapers. Materials in this subseries are arranged by chronological order.

The subjects include a variety of items, such as materials related to film-related associations, film theaters, film actors and actresses, among many others. This series includes materials and subjects that could not be arranged by director's name, in the main sections of this series. Materials in this subseries are arranged in alphabetical order by subject, and therein chronological order.

Materials in this subseries are not specifically film-related, including music and theater. Nevertheless, some of the materials relate to cinema for instance, programs of theater and musicals starring cinema actresses and actors, such as Koshiji Fubuki/越路吹雪. Materials in this subseries are arranged in alphabetical order by subject, and therein chronological order.

This subseries consists of two sections, which include materials on post-war Japanese cinema, mainly film programs and film fliers for original releases, and serials that were issued by Japanese independent theaters (-called mini theaters/mini shiatā/ミニシアター), such as Iwanami Hall, Chanter Cine, and Cinema Square, among many others, which established a new era in Japanese film history and flourished in the 1980s.

This subseries includes materials on East Asian cinemas, mostly Chinese cinemas, which were released in Japan. Subseries VII.3: East Asian also contains several film ephemera related to this subject.
