This collection comprises contemporary printed materials documenting the ongoing legacy of the Satyashodhak ("truth-seeker") tradition, associated with the Satyashodhak Samaj, a social reform movement founded in 1873 by Jyotirao Phule in Maharashtra. The Satyashodhak tradition promotes anticaste activism, social equality, and the rights of marginalized communities, particularly laborers, women, and Dalit groups.
The materials primarily date from circa 2022–2025 and reflect the continued influence of Satyashodhak ideology on contemporary social justice movements. The collection is closely associated with Pratima Pardeshi, a Pune-based writer, editor, and political figure whose work foregrounds marginalized voices within Marathi literary and activist circles.
Through clippings, calendars, and pamphlets, the collection documents the reinterpretation of key historical figures and movements, as well as ongoing advocacy around caste, labor, and education. It is particularly valuable for understanding how Satyashodhak thought continues to shape public discourse and grassroots activism in twenty-first-century Maharashtra.
