Custodial history:: In 1989, a pile of about 900 leaves was found in storage in the Lehman library. The source was unknown, but it was possibly transferred from the Starr East Asian Library to Lehman in 1980/81. The collection was found at Lehman Library by David Magier, South and Southeast Asian Bibliographer, in 1989. Professor Robert Thurman examined the manuscript and was possibly the scholar who separated the out-of-order leaves into six separate manuscripts and provided provisional descriptions. The manuscripts were then transferred to the Rare Book and Manuscript Library.
