Scope and content:

Igor Vladimirovich Bakhterev was a member of the avant-garde literary group called OBERIU (standing for the Union of Real Art). OBERIU was a Russian avant-garde art collective in the 1920s and 1930s. The group was made up of artists, musicians, and writes who were Futurists. The group was founded in 1927 by Daniil Kharms and Alexandr Vvedenskii and was widely known for its provocative performances, which included circus acts, theater presentations, and reading nonsensical verse. Igor Bakhmeteff was an artist and a poet.
