This collection consists of the papers of Frank MacShane, author and editor, and Professor in the Writing Program at Columbia University.

Biographical / historical:

Frank MacShane (1927-1999) was a literary biographer who specialized in applying the highest standards of criticism to popular novelists like Raymond Chandler and John O'Hara who had been ignored by other academic critics.
