The collection includes correspondence, academic course materials, publications and other material documenting the career of Suzanne Hiatt, including the battle for ordination of women clergy in the Episcopal Church.

Suzanne Hiatt was a participant in and a leader of the women's ordination movement in the Episcopal Church. She was appointed the John Seely Stone Professor of Homiletics and Pastoral Theology at the Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and was an ordained priest in the Episcopal Church.
