The collection includes correspondence, manuscripts, membership lists, memoranda, minutes, calligraphy, tracings, announcements, financial records, photographs, and printed, and other related materials. Also, calligraphy submissions for the Society's exhibitions.

Biographical / historical:

The Society of Scribes, Ltd. was organized in New York City in 1974 for the advancement of calligraphy and the related writing arts. The Society has sponsored workshop courses and exhibitions, and has published calendars and other examples of fine calligraphy.

The following boxes are located off-site: 1-24. You will need to request this material at least three business days in advance to use the collection in the Rare Book and Manuscript Library reading room.
