There are many letters from Professor Halsband concerning the progress of his books. Letters to and from her family and from her friends have been added. Correspondents include Samuel Hopkins Adams, Samuel Atkins Eliot, Jr., and Italo Montemezzi.

Research chemist. Ruth Alice Norman Weil Halsband was the wife of Professor Robert Halsband. (Smith College A.B., 1922; Columbia Ph.D., 1946).
