The files of John Cushman Associates, Inc. include correspondence with authors, publishers, and other agents and deal with the editing and publishing of American and English books, serial rights, reprints, dramatic rights, translations, foreign rights, promotion, and copyright registration.

Biographical / historical:

John Cushman had been affiliated with William Morris Agency, Inc. until 1965 when he formed his own company as the American branch of Curtis Brown Ltd. (London). In March of 1978, John Cushman Associates, Inc. was absorbed by James Brown Associates, Inc.

Box CC1-CC3 is located onsite.

The following boxes are located off-site: 1-144. You will need to request this material at least three business days in advance to use the collection in the Rare Book and Manuscript Library reading room.
