deDaehn's account books for the years 1900 through 1969 contain detailed records of daily household expenditures, including everything from doctor, laundry and grocery bills to transportation and the theatre. Correspondence consists of letters from Alexander deDaehn to his mother describing his social life in St. Petersburg and travels through Russia in 1903. Typed copies of Alexander's letters written in 1904 give an account of his experiences and observations as a Russian soldier in China.
