Biographical / historical:

The Committee was founded in April, 1975 to help establish accredited courses in book publishing in United States colleges and universities. Drawing on the experience of members of the publishing community, the committee also sought to provide further training for professionals already in the field as well as to educate the public at large. The committee's work coincides with the growing interest in adult and continuing education and contains material relating to that trend. PEPCO eventually expanded its activities to correspondence with their colleagues in British Publishing.
