Scope and content:: Manuscripts of Ukraint︠s︡ev. The manuscripts are chiefly autobiographical in nature, and cover the 1905-1955 period. Among the topics Ukraint︠s︡ev treats are: the 1905 Revolution; pogroms in Kishinev; the St. Petersburg-Petrograd Military District (Voennyĭ Okrug), with which Ukraint︠s︡ev was associated from 1914 to 1917; Ukraint︠s︡ev's service with the White Army on the southern front; his service as an interpreter for German troops in the USSR in 1941; Adolph Hitler; and the ten years Ukraint︠s︡ev spent in Soviet prison camps following his arrest by SMERSH in Poland, 1945.
Biographical / historical:: Lawyer in the Imperial Russian military.
