Scope and content:

Reports submitted to T︠S︡ar ́Nicholas I by Tol.́ Included are two reports for 1834 and one each for 1835, 1837 and 1838, as well as comparative figures for the years 1832-1838. The reports cover such areas as navigation, road and bridge construction and the erection of public buildings, including hospitals, courthouses, prisons, post offices, schools etc. They also give information on the transportation department's finances and staffing. The following related item forms part of the collection: facsimile of the manuscript edition of a French language textbook on the hydrography of Russia entitled "Hydrographie de l'empire de Russie a l'usage des ʹelèves de l'institut des voies de communication." Première partie, St. Petersbourg, 1833.
