The memoirs "Kratkaia biografiia moego zhiznennogo puti s 19l4 goda" concern Rebrov's experiences in World War I and the Civil War. The memoirs end with his demobilization in Germany in 1920.

Rebrov joined the Russian Army in 1915. He witnessed the dissolution of the army in 1917, and subsequently went to Petrozavodsk and Murmansk. Murmansk, where he worked as an accountant, was taken over by Allied troops in 1918. In the next year he joined general Evgeniĭ Miller's army, served briefly at the front, and then retreated with his unit to Finland.
