Collection consists largely of Bocharnikova's memoirs (typescript with holograph notes), which deal with World War I, the Revolution and Civil War, and her participation in the "Women's Death Battalion." There are also printed materials on female soldiers and sailors in World War I ("Voennaia byl'" - publication of the Obshche-Kadetskoe Ob'edinenie, No. 95, Jan. 1969; clippings from "Niva", 1917), personal photographs (1932, 1933), and picture postcards with 1917 scenes.

Maria Alexandrovna Bocharnikova (1899-1975), soldier, Kinght of St. George, nurse, member of the Russian Expeditionary Force in Persia during the World War I, non-commissioned officer of the 2nd company of the Petrograd Volunteer Women's Battalion, took part in the defense of the Winter Palace. During the civil war she served in the Markovsky, then in the 1st Kuban regiment. Emigrated in 1920; in France since 1932. Member of the Ob"edinenie sester miloserdiia Rossiiskogo obshchestva Krasnogo Kresta (ROKK). Published in the journal "Rodnye perezvony" (Brussels) and "Novyi Zhurnal."
