The collection consists of manuscripts, documents, correspondence, and printed materials.

The papers include the following manuscript with drawings by Berladnik-Pukovskii: Genealogy of Russian Aristocracy; "Istoriia snosheniia Rossiiskago Gosudarstva s narodami severnago Kavkaza"; "Trip to Pamir and Bukhara region (1911).

There are also subject files: Imperial army in 1917, 2nd cavalry corps (documents); Soiuz Gortsev Beahfentsev Severnago Kavkaza, Constantinople, 1920s (correspondence, documents, and related materials).

Also included are printed materials and a large map of Central Asia.

Biographical / historical:

Andrei Fedorovich Berladnik-Pukovskii, aka Shir-Khan Berladnik-Pukovskii (1883-1964), Russian Army officer. After graduating from the Voronezh Cadet Corps, studied at the Nikolaev Engineering School and the Nikolaev Engineering Academy.In 1910-1911 served in the Turkestan military district, as a military traveler-researcher studied the Eastern Pamirs. During the WWI served in the 2nd Caucasian Corps. During the Civil war founded and commanded the Mountain Muslim Cavalry Division. In January 1920, he fell ill with typhus and was sent to Novorossiisk. Evacuated from Crimea. Settled in France in 1927.
