Scope and content:: The papers of Maslovskiĭ consist of correspondence, manuscripts, photographs, and subject files. Among the correspondents are Mark Aldanov, General Nikolaĭ I︠U︡denich, and many former Russian officers. Manuscripts consist largely of Maslovskiĭ's bound typescript memoirs"Nekotorye stranit︠s︡y moeĭ zhizni" (ca. 2,200 p.); the manuscript version of the first six volumes of the memoirs is also included, as is a memoir about his service in Persia in 1909-1914. Subject files include correspondence, manuscripts, and printed materials about his research on World War I, his book, General I︠U︡denich, and other topics.
Biographical / historical:: A general in the Imperial and White armies, Maslovskiĭ served in the Caucasus region during World War I and the Civil War; he was the author of "Mirovai︠a︡ voĭna na Kavkazskom fronte, 1914-1917 g." (Paris, 1933). After leaving Russia he lived in Nice, where he directed the library of the Russian Orthodox Cathedral.
