Most of the letters are to Lunin's sister, from Siberia in 1838-1840; in addition there is an essay by him"Coup dʹoeil sur les affaires de Pologne" drawing on his service with Grand Duke Konstantin Pavlovich in Congress Poland in the 1820s. Also included are two brief essays by Marii︠a︡ Volkonskai︠a︡ on Lunin and his letters. This copy of Lunin's letterbook was prepared by Volkonskai︠a︡.
