Scope and content:

The collection includes a letter by Krüger to Grayson Kirk describing his experiences, pages from a guest-book signed by American and Soviet soldiers, and photographs of Krüger and his restaurant.

Biographical / historical:

Former Columbia University student who operated a restaurant in Germany during World War II. When the Soviet army arrived in 1945, Krüger was spared by showing his Columbia I.D. card.
