Typescript of memoirs of Mikhail Nikolaevich Arkhipov. The memoirs deal with World War I, specifically with the Russian campaigns in western Poland and the Carpathians in 1914-1915, and with the effect of the 1917 revolution on the army.

Biographical / historical:

Mikhail Nikolaevich Arkhipov (November 16 (28), 1885, Helsingfors (Helsinki) - February 10, 1972, Friedrichsgam, Finland), Colonel of the Russian Imperial Army, participant in the World War I and the Civil War in Russia, military writer, Recipient of the Order of St. George, 4th class and St. George Sword. After the October Revolution, he first served in the Red Army. Later he joined the White movement, after the defeat of which he emigrated to Finland. First he was in he Lahti and Hermola camps, since 1935 - in Helsinki. Representative of the ROVS in Finland. Chairman of the association of the Izmailovsky Life Guards regiment. Worked in the magazine "Voennaia byl'".
