Collection context

Creator:
Meglin, Nick
Extent:
1.5 Linear Feet (1 folder in MC 15-B-4)
Language:
English
Scope and content:

Brooklyn native Nick Meglin worked on the editorial staff at MAD magazine for nearly 50 years. While founding editor Harvey Kurtzman set MAD's original tone, Meglin became its creative muse. His close relationships with MAD artists led to innumerable gifts of art over the decades, some ribald, some affectionate, some focusing on his mania for tennis. This collection showcases several of these works of art, primarily portraits, with work by Sergio Aragones, Jack Davis, Mort Drucker, and others.
