Scope and content:

William Glaser was a social scientist and professor at the New School, Michigan State University, and Columbia University. He was a Research Associate at Columbia's Bureau of Applied Social Research (1956-1982) and Executive Director of the Council of Social Sciences Data Archives (1965-1968). He wrote several books focused on public policy, including "The Brian Drain: Emigration and Return" (1978) and "Paying the Hospital: The Organization, Dynamics, and Effects of Differing Financial Arrangements" (1987).
