Rick Veitch (born 1941) has had a lengthy career in a wide variety of comics, from mainstream to underground and beyond. He was also a member of the inaugural class at the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art. In 2020, he was named Vermont's fourth official Cartoonist Laureate.
