Subseries VIII.6: Research and Commercial Material, 1975-2012
- Scope and content:
-
This subseries includes commercially produced cassette tapes and VHS tapes of material recorded off of television. Many of these VHS tapes include a large number of discrete recordings, according to their handwritten labels. These recordings include dance programs, films, sitcoms, talk shows, documentaries, awards shows, and political events, such as Reverend Jessie Jackson's speeches at the Democratic National Convention and his "Rainbow Coalition" events. There are also two tapes that appear to have pornographic material on them. While the tapes in this subseries cannot be digitized for copyright reasons, they have been retained for their value as artifacts.
